These clients purchased this as a second home and they bought it furnished. The house had great bones and aesthetics but the furniture set up was wrong for the space and it was to traditional and uncomfortable for the way they lived. They wanted it to be classic with a touch of French, be comfortable but Casually Elegant. The first things I noticed when I walked in the door that I knew I needed to change besides the furniture was the fireplace, the living room built-in and treat the large stove hood. The fireplace was just drywall and that’s the first thing you see when you walk in the door. It needed to be a “wow” factor! It needed to be beautiful! We needed to wrap it with marble! The living room built-in was so big and took up the whole wall – it was also more armoire like – we needed a built-in here but a low one with tv and art above. The hood that went up to the ceiling was great but only the lower backsplash was tiled – I found the tile and tiled the hood to make your eye go up to appreciate the high ceilings and wood beams. I really loved this job. This client and I got along great and her tastes are amazing – our collaboration made everything fun and fluid.
